Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked within British Gas Zero within the OmniServe team, working directly under a product owner, providing data analysis, reports and presentations. Using a wide range of skills and softwares including Adobe Analytics, Jira, Power BI, medallia, etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was trusted with every task I was given, meaning that I had a sole responsibility for many different projects. Through the data that I provided cases were able to be made and business decisions were informed.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have developed both soft and technical skills. Soft skills include collaboration, stakeholder management and presenting with impact. Technical skills include upskilling in many different softwares and processes like AWS, Adobe Analytics and Jira. I have developed existing skills such as excel, PowerPoint, Word, and my general analytical skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
I received support every step of the way from my line manager and senior manager. Not only this but I had continuous check-ins with other members of stuff not in my team, so with GTMs, my buddy and the early careers team, providing a well-rounded support network.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture and atmosphere was amazing. Before starting the internship I was unsure of how this would be in the corporate world, however on joining Centrica it became evident that the atmosphere created was of a kind, friendly and supportive nature.

I had a wonderful experience, not only developing my professional skills but building long lasting connections with other members of the company. I am very thankful for the opportunities I have received and I would definitely recommend Centrica to a friend.

What advice would you give to others applying to Centrica
I would recommend Centrica to anyone. It has been a lovely experience that I would be more than happy to do again. My advice would be "don't be nervous", everyone is so kind and welcoming you will feel at home within an instant.
