Business Management Summer Intern Review

I attended meetings, sat in on calls regarding Employee Relations cases and worked on my project around creating interactive e-learning modules. Involved researching policies and reaching out to my team members to ask any questions or receive clarification. Research into how best to promote learning and engagement through online learning modules.

I was given much more independence than I was expecting. I worked on a project that will eventually be published and used regularly within the company so that made the work feel really valuable. We also had lots of responsibility in terms of our own development outside of my role - opportunities to network and develop skills were offered but it was my responsibility to reach out to people and pursue them which was valuable.

Improved multitasking and presentations skills massively. Lots of opportunities to present if you take them - the importance of being proactive. Learned the importance of working in a company that encourages you to engage with you other passions or values through the networks. Gained experience communicating and networking in a professional environment. Further developed skills in managing my own time effectively.

Lots of support from the Careers team - always communicative and answering questions. Really helped to create a community within the intern group.
There are multiple avenues of support with graduates too.
My line manager was a constant source of support and guidance for any questions or simply to have a chat.

Really supportive. People are passionate about their work and the culture is really positive and welcoming.

Greatly enjoyed my placement and found I gained a lot of valuable experience. Learned a lot about Centrica, my role specifically and gained lots of transferrable skills too. I found the community here created a comfortable, supportive environment and all the events in Windsor were very enjoyable.
