Women in Business Insight Week Review

The programme was packed with presentations and hands-on experience into the work at Bloomberg. Prior to the programme, we were offered an online course into basic financial concepts and the Bloomberg terminal, which helped me greatly with orientating myself given I do not come from a finance background. The online programme also included lots of presentations and QnA about different aspects of the Bloomberg business & experience.
During the in-house experience, we shadowed Bloomberg professionals in the sales and analytics departments, role-playing to apply our learning on the spot, and took part in extremely well-planned activities that helped us attendees get to know one another and current employees better, while exploring different parts of the Bloomberg experience. The week was packed with learning and networking opportunities, and concluded with a group project presentation where we consolidated and applied our learning.
It really was such a fruitful and exciting experience with the most amazing and welcoming group of people!

It was an extremely insightful and helpful experience as it gave us a deep dive into the Sales & Analytics roles, but also other parts of the business (e.g. broadcasting, data & programming) as well as opportunities for further upskilling and mobility within Bloomberg.

I developed a strong foundation in the foundational concepts of the financial market, going through the basics of different asset classes, learnt how to use the Terminal and further honed my networking skills through the numerous opportunities to network and speak to a whole range of people at Bloomberg. We were also given a public speaking workshop and challenged to develop our public speaking skills in a final project presentation.

It was such a uniquely welcoming and positive environment. You are encouraged to learn and ask questions, network as much as possible, and everyone was really well taken care of! You really feel you're valued even as an Insight Weeker and I can only summarise it as positive energy all round!

I can only recommend the insight week to anyone even just a little bit curious about the financial world. Coming from a social sciences background and with no financial experience, the Insight Week was planned such that we got a solid introduction into the company and industry, while incorporating lots of fun and engaging activities that kept us all invested and interested!
