Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
We had two main projects to present on and alongside these we were given a range of other work. It involved market and asset class research, and on a day-to-day basis I was filling in spreadsheets and compiling reports and powerpoints. I also got to attend training sessions and meetings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes - we were given a range of different projects and had to take on the responsibility of completing them to the best of our ability and meet certain deadlines.

- Better understanding of the pensions industry and financial markets and commercial awareness

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Everyone was really supportive and happy to help whenever I had questions. They were keen to make sure I had a range of work to do but never wanted me to overwork myself. They were also really helpful when explaining the different exams you can take, which has helped me think about what my career could look like.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
There is a really nice work environment at Isio. Everyone is really friendly and welcoming, and the environment is more relaxed than I was expecting. There are regular lunches/dinners and social events to allow you to get to know people. Overall they are very accommodating and happy to have you there

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed the work I was given and getting to experience what a job in Investment Advisory would entail. I also appreciated being able to experience the work environment and see what the atmosphere is like at Isio. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my 6 weeks here.

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Isio
Research the company and role well and try to have a bit of background knowledge on finance if possible, but ultimately try to relax in the interview. They're so friendly and want you to do well so it's best if you're genuine and show a passion for working there.
