Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual experience and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Over each of the three days, I learned about different key skills as a teacher and used these in examples with my peers. I also heard from Teach First’s industry partners so the sessions were diverse and very interesting.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was interesting to learn that going through the Teach first scheme does not limit you to being a teacher - I met people who now work in industry who were teachers and are now advisors and consultants

My classroom management and presentation skills are vastly improved from when I applied. I now know what to look for in a good and bad class and how to plan lessons

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company proved to have an excellent culture as there was a big talk and focus on diversity and inclusion. They didn’t just talk the talk, they clearly cared about the excellent work they’ve already done and know the work they’ve still to do. All very friendly and they used gender neutral pronouns a lot and the leaders all had their pronouns on their names.

To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
Very enjoyable, although sitting at my PC from 9-5 was a bit long, there were plenty of breaks and it was well worth it
