Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The vacation scheme was very insightful in general and I had a jam packed schedule. On a regular day, as vac schemers would have overview sessions with lawyers from a range of practice areas, alongside spending time with our practice area teams. I also assisted my principal with work on live matters.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

We gained a really good insight into the business, and how an international law firm such as Linklaters operates. We also gained a really good insight into how Linklaters as a firm navigates around issues in the industry and deals with clients, which was very interesting.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot in my time at Linklaters. I developed a good understanding in Tax law, and the skills required for a career in commercial law such as good research skills, good communication, and critical thinking. The tasks I was involved in were essential in helping me develop all these skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture at Linklaters was very friendly and inclusive. Upon arrival, I immediately got a sense of the supportive culture at the firm, and was a very good experience overall.
