Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We were engaged in sessions from different departments of the firm, their D, E&I offering, pro bono and innovation. I participated in exciting tasks in the banking team from my training principal, trainee buddy and other people in the department. We also had the great chance to organise our own "coffee chats" with people we met across the firm.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really encouraging to see how much support people at the firm received during their TC and all of the extra opportunities that were available alongside working in your seat such as contributing to pro bono, innovation and helping prospective applicants.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed my skills of written and spoken communication, resilience and teamworking across the scheme. I also gained new skills of how to effectively complete commercial tasks such as drafting key emails, undertaking company research and drafting key agreements. It was a very beneficial experience.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture and general atmosphere was very friendly and supportive. My trainee buddy and principal were always on hand to answer any questions no matter how busy they were. Furthermore, anyone I met at the firm was more than willing to meet for coffee and share their experiences and the whole cohort really encouraged each other.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really felt like we gained a great insight into the firm and its opportunities through regular sessions, socials to network and our own coffee chats. Furthermore, the work in my seat was very varied and I got great exposure into the day-to-day routine.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Linklaters
Definitely try and understand the firm and what makes the firm unique. Also just make sure that you communicate clearly and try and understand the firm's values when attempting the psychometric tests.
