Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
From practice overview sessions, to individual tasks assigned by both HR and principals, we gained invaluable insight into the demands and expectations of a solicitor. We learned about what it means to be a commercial lawyer in a fast-paced international firm and attended several meetings whether it was bi-weekly meetings, general team meetings, or internal conferences. We also attended socials with the cohort to interact and get to know each other better.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very insightful learning about all the different roles and different practices that the firm has. Linklaters is a full service law firm working on the most complex and challenging cases and learning about these during the practice overview sessions offered me the opportunity to open my mind to a whole range of fields that I am now interested in.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I have learned about time management and how crucial it is to manage your capacity as well as meeting deadlines. Organising my time by arranging my calendar helped me to balance multiple commitments whether that be tasks, coffee chats, or meetings.
I also learned about attention to detail. I had the chance to work on tasks where being very meticulous is essential.

The company culture was very friendly. From the junior to senior level everyone was amazing. Everyone is genuinely interested in getting to know you.
