Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Attended daily meetings and met different people within the Marketing team to learn about their roles. Supported the Brand team in any tasks needed; from competitor research to advertisement brainstorming, design, etc.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given just enough resposibility to feel useful and productive, but never overwhelmed by the work assigned. I was guided through processes I did not know and always felt supported when I had questions or needed further guidance.

I learn something new every day thanks to the great variety of roles that this team houses. From content creation and graphic design, to marketing operations and PR.

A lot. From my line manager to my coworkers and even the HR team, I always felt like I could be curious. Learning was encouraged and supported always.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Legal & General is an incredibly kind company despite it’s size and prominence. The community was incredible, and the work-life balance amazing.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship. It was my first experience in a work environment and was warmly welcomed by the Future Talents team and my own team. I made friends, learned from people in the industry and did meaningful work. I also had the opportunity to learn about investment management (in which I had very little experience) as every single team within LGIM was always open to getting together and answering my questions.
