Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Helping with planning applications in the research process, completing pre-application letters, site appraisals, board reports and condition cover letters. Sometimes I was taken to site visits to see the property that was being proposed, and was also taken along to a committee meeting during my time.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given the responsibility to complete different tasks, however the work was sent for review before being submitted formally through any councils.

Yes, having not had a background in Planning at all, where I do a geography degree, the internship gave me a complete insight into what Planning involves.

Really good company atmosphere with lots of general support. Everyone was very approachable so easy to ask questions about anything.
