Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role has included shadowing employees within the Food and Farming team, working very closely with the graduate. Day-to-day tasks vary, ranging from mapping, grant applications, research for clients or even client meetings on their farm.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I would say that I have been given a reasonable amount of responsibility. This has mainly been through being trusted to complete government grant applications for clients.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I have massively developed my mapping skills, working a lot on Land App. The summer scheme has also improved my networking and communication skills as i have been introduced to a variety of people, both clients and employees.

The support and guidance has been excellent, I have found that everyone within my department and rural have been very good in terms of helping me out where required and ensuring that I am enjoying the internship.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone in the office has been very welcoming, even inviting me to participate in company sports matches. the atmosphere within the company/ office is lovely as everyone is wanting the best for each other.

I would say do not hesitate in applying. It has provided me with an invaluable experience that I will go on to use when applying for graduate jobs. Additionally, if you have any questions in terms of what to apply for or anything else then just reach out as everyone will want to help you- don't be scared!
