Sales Associate Review

The role involves supporting various managers. On a day to day basis this involves pulling reports and with that data, creating meaningful insight. It involves efficient communication to accurately update data sources. Working with Account Executives on deals means some time is spent learning about SAP and their solutions to ensure I am delivering positive input. Around 65% of the day (depending on the day) is spent on calls, the rest is spent on individual work.

Depends on the role. At the beginning of placement I did not get much responsibility, which is expected as I had no knowledge or experience.
As my placement progressed, i was slowly giving more responsibility.
Towards the end I felt like I was an integral part of some processes and was given a lot of responsibility and autonomy. I was given a great amount of freedom (didn't have someone over my shoulder all the time), which was one of the best things about this placement.

I have always been a social person, but going into a new environment (especially virtually) taught me how to engage with people I don't know very well. This then translates into customer facing situations.
Having to present to various managers not only increased my presentation skills, but also taught me how to be comfortable in positions of pressure
I have learned sales skills such as communication, negotiation, influencing and storytelling
My excel and PowerPoint skills also increased

I received a high level of guidance and suppor.
At SAP you can almost get an unlimited level of support and guidance. There is a lot that is given to us, but people here are always happy to help and guide.
We received a buddy and a mentor, both playing a big part in my SAP experience, both always happy to speak to me and help me where they can. SAP also offers various courses. We were also encouraged to create a career development plan.

Company culture and atmosphere were great. People are always happy to help and are very nice. The atmosphere is relaxed and fairly informal most times. SAP is a friendly company of friendly people and the culture between interns is amazing.
People seem energized and eager to start this new journey with RISE at SAP. Everyone is happy to help and ensured my onboarding was as smooth as possible, introducing me to people around the business and teaching at the same time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. There were many opportunities for me to showcase my skills but also to learn various new ones and complement existing ones.
I had a great relationship with my managers and team, being completely comfortable around them and learning a lot from them.
The work at SAP was interesting, with a lot of responsibility. It allowed me to understand what I like to do and don't like to do, giving me a clearler career path.
