Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Each day varied from different tasks for different project. Additionally, where were many zoom calls consisting of department over views and team meetings that were very insightful.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Throughout the placement department overviews were available to all summer scheme students which gave an insight to the company. Zoom network meetings with current graduates were also held where we could chat about the business and how they got to the position they are in now which was very helpful.

During my placement I have improved on my already existing skills, such as formatting and writing emails, cover letters, as well as using software such as Savills maps, the planning portal and additionally improving my teamwork and research skills.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere within the company was very welcoming and positive. All colleagues helped guide me through various tasks and were open to answering any questions about the business or subjects surrounding. The atmosphere in the office was friendly and positive.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed developing my skills throughout my time in the company. I also enjoyed the department overviews as I feel this made me more aware of other opportunities that Savills had that I was previously unaware of.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills
I would advise to anyone applying to a Savills summer scheme to go into the opportunity with an open mindset. When applying it helped that I was interested in developing my knowledge in planning. I would advise to anyone accepted to the Savills summer scheme to attend all of the department overviews and online networking events. I found them very informative and interesting as it opened my eyes to other opportunities within the business.
