Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

On a day-to-day basis I would compile comparable evidence, attend team meetings and network with current graduates and qualified surveyors. I was often tasked to write market appraisals for development sites. I also had the opportunity to do a site inspection of a vacant carehome in Leamington Spa, which enabled me to understand the role of a surveyor outside of the office.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

During the scheme, there were regular zoom meetings to discuss the different teams that sit within Savills and this gave me a great insight into the different paths that are available for myself to choose from when I graduate in 2024.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed an eye for detail, improved my existing communication and interpersonal skills, time management and many more. From networking with graduates and qualified surveyors to calling up other agents to find out information for comparable evidence, this experience has improved my confidence in the working world.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

At the Savills, the welcoming and inclusive company culture created an inspiring atmosphere for myself and other colleagues can collaborate with mutual respect. There was a sense of belonging which made me feel valued, supported and accepted. It instilled a sense of confidence enabling me to thrive and contribute authentically.
