Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Very useful as you are exposed to different types of seats (I was given one transactional seat and one contentious seat). You are given a main task which you do throughout your week at the department but also other tasks which are done during the week.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

There are various sessions throughout the two weeks which will give you a good insight into what Dentons does, pro-bono opportunities, how the training contract is structured, innovations being used to name a few.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I was able to get a good insight into what different departments expect, how people interact/work together and it was great to be able to develop legal skills (especially drafting and research).

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Surprisingly open, everyone is happy to chat about their experience, process and you are actively encouraged to ask questions, no matter what it may be. You are free to approach anyone to have a chat, no matter who it is.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

Thoroughly enjoyable. Whilst there were nerves on the first day these quickly vanished as everyone understood and went out of their way to make sure you could perform to the best of your ability.
