Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Overseeing orders, ensuring deliveries arrive on time. Managing stock position and ensuring customer orders are submitted to the sourcing unit and fulfilled in time for the requested delivery date.
Analysing forecasts and offering insights on how to optimise the forecast based on actual sales and knowledge of the market

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes - I was responsible for ensuring the supply of goods ran smoothly for an entire brand of products - a brand which the company put lots of focus on and resources for growth this year

I've learnt lots of data analysis skills - including how to use Power Bi and SAP
I have leant how to communicate effectively with customers and external suppliers, with a high level of business awareness

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My line manager and team have been extremely supportive this year - due to Covid I have worked from home all year but that has not hindered my progression
I have had a mentor from the graduate scheme who has been a really helpful and supportive figure
I feel like all of my colleagues are always willing to help with any task!

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company puts a lot of emphasis on discovering your inner purpose, which creates a really friendly and positive atmosphere to work in.
Achievements were praised greatly and areas to improve on were always addressed in a supporting manor, I never felt that I was being 'told off' or blamed for any issues.

I have really enjoyed the year - I was given tasks with a great responsibility and value.
