Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The insight program was covered over 2 days and after being split into smaller groups, we worked with a SDE mentor through different workshops and activities with some presentation slides covered as well. We touched on a few different topics of interest and many of them had interview and job role relevancy.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The talks on the business and potential roles available were fantastic and was the best aspect of the event.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learned about new things and concepts I wasn't too familiar with before however I did not feel like I got much out of the mentor or the workshops in general in terms of actually learning about these new concepts as they were not demonstrated much by the mentor (mostly had us go complete the activities ourselves with little to no discussion of our own work afterwards) and it was only supplemented by verbal, brief explanations of the concepts and very little interaction and input.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed it to the extent the talks allowed. I did not enjoy the workshops due to the lack of interaction and demonstration shown by the mentor however. Other than that, it was a great experience and really nice to see it organised so well.
