Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

There were multiple zoom sessions where I got an insight into the work and culture of Amazon, how the interview process works, tips and tricks and what Amazon looks for in interviews. I also got to take part in a great workshop with like-minded students where we undertook a couple of programming challenges and discussed solutions.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It was very new to me and I enjoyed hearing about the opportunies and progression of all the Amazon employees I interacted it. This was very beneficial as I'd know what to expect.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've learned a couple new programming concepts, especially in the realm of data structures and algorithms which were a large focus of the workshops. I also developed my teamworking and debugging skills as a team with the other students in my workshop group.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I've learned a lot about Amazon's culture and importance of leadership principles. These leadership principles and inclusivity is a backbone of the company's culture. The atmosphere was great and showcased a willingness to work together and improve.
