About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Digital Support Apprentice to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in technology, digital systems, and helping others. You will develop expertise across the practice's key healthcare applications, supporting colleagues in the effective use of digital systems and ensuring information is maintained accurately and securely.

Working towards a Digital Applications Support SCQF Level 6 qualification, you will gain hands-on experience supporting users, managing digital workflows, maintaining data quality, and contributing to continuous improvement projects across the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for colleagues and patients, providing support with digital systems and directing queries to the appropriate teams where required.
  • Become a system expert in the practice's key digital applications, including Docman, EMIS Web, Vision, SCI Gateway, AccuRx, eConsult, NHS Mail, and other clinical and business systems used across the practice.
  • Triage incoming digital correspondence, clinical workflows, system notifications, and electronic documents to ensure they are correctly assigned and processed.
  • Support the effective use of digital applications by assisting colleagues with system queries and promoting best practice across the practice.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records through the effective use of clinical and business systems, ensuring information remains up to date and reliable.
  • Carry out data quality checks across multiple platforms, identifying and resolving discrepancies to support accurate record keeping and reporting.
  • Support patient registration, record management, and healthcare service delivery through the use of digital systems and technology.
  • Monitor shared inboxes, workflows, and system queues, ensuring requests are tracked, prioritised, and actioned appropriately.
  • Produce reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and trackers using information extracted from practice systems to support operational performance and service delivery.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organisation of digital documentation, knowledge resources, and system user guides.
  • Provide first-line support for digital applications and devices, escalating technical issues to specialist support teams where necessary.
  • Support digital improvement projects and the introduction of new technologies, helping to enhance processes and user experience across the practice.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure systems are used effectively and consistently.
  • Develop knowledge of healthcare technologies, cyber security, information governance, data protection, and digital best practice.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, system utilisation, and digital processes to support continuous improvement across the practice.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in an office, customer service, or healthcare environment.

  • Experience using databases or electronic systems.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
