Graduate Apprentice – Cyber Security, Prestwick Aerosystems – Prestwick, Scotland

Prestwick Aerosystems is entering an exciting period of digital modernisation, and we are recruiting a Graduate Apprentice – Cyber Security to join our IT and Cyber Security team. This is an opportunity to build advanced cyber skills while supporting real operational systems within a major aerospace manufacturing site.

About the Role

As a Graduate Apprentice, you will develop your cyber capability through a blend of workplace learning and part‑time academic study. Working alongside experienced cyber and IT professionals, you will support activities that help protect our systems, safeguard data, and strengthen our overall security posture.Your work will contribute to maintaining and improving the security of enterprise and manufacturing systems that are critical to the operation of the site.

How You Will Contribute

• Support day‑to‑day cyber security activity, including monitoring, investigations and vulnerability management.
• Assist in maintaining secure systems, networks and applications.
• Contribute to cyber risk assessments, compliance activity and improvement projects.
• Apply the knowledge gained through your MSc programme to real operational environments.

What You Will Learn

• Network security and intrusion detection
• Cryptography and encryption
• Governance, risk management and compliance

Entry Requirements

• A degree in computing or a closely related technical discipline.
• Programming experience.
• Basic understanding of computer networking (e.g., TCP/IP, WiFi, Ethernet).
• Foundation in mathematics or logic appropriate to computing.

• Interest in cyber security and developing technical capability.
• Ability to apply analytical thinking and work with technical tools and systems.
• Motivation to learn and contribute within a structured IT and engineering environment.
