Join our IT Support team as an apprentice and take your first step into a career that encourages curiosity, innovation, and hands-on problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st‑line IT support (in‑person and remote), logging and managing incident tickets and escalating where needed.
  • Support user account management across Microsoft 365, on‑prem systems, Oracle EBS and cloud platforms.
  • Assist with network services including LAN, Wi‑Fi, DNS, DHCP, VPN and basic office cabling tasks.
  • Build and deploy new hardware (Windows laptops, iOS devices, telephony and AV equipment) and maintain the IT Build Room.
  • Contribute to user training materials and occasional IT projects across development, infrastructure or cyber teams.
  • Maintain accurate apprenticeship training records and proactively develop technical skills.

Desired skills & attributes:

  • Keen interest in IT, with basic IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible, proactive, “can‑do” attitude aligned to Angel Trains’ values.

Entry requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • Non-standard entry with work experience
  • Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme.
  • You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
  • If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

  • Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm (1 hour lunch)

Future prospects:

  • 90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.
