Job Description

Business Development (Sales) Graduate 2026

A Business Development Graduate is a dynamic and exciting role within Experian.

Reporting into the Head of Sales, you will join the Experian Data Quality sales team who sell data quality software to a range of business-to-business clients across sectors including Retail, Finance, Gaming, Fintech, Public Sector and Utilities. The products offered help companies improve the quality of data across their organisation, enabling them to better serve their customers.

This is an exciting and growing area of the business, meaning that the responsibilities revolve around driving new opportunities and to expand these results in the future.

As a Business Development Graduate, you will:

  • Use a range of sales and research tools to identify key contacts and decision‑makers across target accounts.
  • Engage with prospective clients to generate new business opportunities. You’ll be given a portfolio of prospects, but with the freedom to explore and approach new brands.
  • Communicate confidently across channels, including phone, email, video calls and face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Collaborate with wider sales, marketing and support teams, helping you build strong internal relationships and identify cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Work towards clear KPIs related to meetings booked and pipeline development, while ensuring all activities are accurately recorded in Salesforce CRM.
  • Develop strong communication and influencing skills, receiving coaching and feedback to support your growth.
  • Contribute to closing new business opportunities, working alongside senior colleagues as you progress towards managing your own deals.

This is a solution selling role, which helps to ensure the correct processes are followed to provide the right fit and value to the client. This means that you must have strong problem-solving skills, as you’ll need to understand the clients’ needs, and produce an effective solution.

Building strong client relationships is key to this role and in return, you have the amazing opportunity to genuinely impact our business success.

Our Graduate roles are permanent opportunities, and you’ll also take part in our 2 year structured Early Careers Development Programme when you join us which is packed with workshops, short-courses & online material designed to help kick-start your career.

Qualifications

  • To be eligible for this graduate programme, you’ll need: To have recently achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:1 degree classification in any degree subject, and have an interest in sales, customers and people.
  • You'll need current legal right to work in the UK without requiring visa sponsorship, either at the start of the scheme or beyond. This is due to recent changes to the Home Office sponsorship criteria and the long-term nature of the role within the programme.
  • Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be motivated to keep going in the face of rejection. You will be customer-focused person with an ability to think innovatively to provide the best outcome for our clients.
