We have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Graduate to join Amey in our Complex Facilities People Team.
Starting Salary: £28,500 per annum
Location: This is a hybrid role, home working with occasional travel to our Birmingham office.
Start Date: April 2026

Complex Facilities delivers bespoke, integrated facilities and asset management services across some of the UK’s most critical and secure environments. We support over 18,000 military homes, 141 schools and colleges, NHS estates, justice and defence sites, and 60 prisons, ensuring they remain safe, efficient and operational every day. This role provides a strong foundation in HR by giving the graduate experience across all areas of the people function while developing towards a future in HR. You’ll build core skills in employee relations, absence management, trade union engagement and wider HR processes, while also supporting delivery of the People Plan and developing confident stakeholder‑management skills. Your primary focus will be supporting business growth and work‑winning through tenders, people data analysis, TUPE activity and mobilisation planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support HR activity across employee relations, absence management, trade union engagement and core people processes.
- Contribute to the delivery of the People Plan, including talent, organisational effectiveness, engagement and inclusion initiatives.
- Build strong stakeholder‑management skills by attending meetings, supporting senior leaders and developing an understanding of operational and strategic business needs.
- Support business‑growth activity, including tenders, data analysis, creating people‑content libraries, TUPE processes and mobilisation planning.
What you will bring:
- You’ve completed a degree in any discipline; we’re more interested in your mindset than your subject. If you’re curious about HR and excited to grow in a structured, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you.
- Available to join the programme in April 2026
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills – Written and oral
- High level of motivation and initiative; self-starter
- Excellent organisation skills and able to manage a broad portfolio of activities
- Confident in engaging with and managing stakeholders
