Are you due to finish school or college and considering a career in Engineering? How would you like to undertake an Apprenticeship with a company that is a global leader in medical imaging, laboratory diagnostics and medical information technology?

As a Field Service Engineer Apprentice at Siemens Healthineers, you will be an integral part of our field-based engineering team of approximately 200 engineers across Great Britain & Ireland. Your responsibilities will include installing, repairing, and maintaining our cutting-edge medical systems. You'll provide essential technical service support to our customers, working at hospital sites across the UK, initially focusing on London and South England region, all the while earning Level 3 and 4 accredited qualifications.

What to Expect:

  • Attend a local college to work towards achieving a Level 3 in Mechatronic Engineering, progressing to a Level 4 qualification over the 4-year period. If you have already achieved Level 3 qualification, you will be working towards a Level 4 Lead Engineer qualification.
  • Visit customer sites across London and South England region, as well as Siemens manufacturing sites and training centres in Germany and the US.
  • Gain hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues on high-tech medical products.
  • Upon completion of the apprenticeship and with a good training record, you will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent full-time position as a Customer Service Engineer with opportunities for further education and product training.

Benefits:

  • Starting salary £15,000 - £19,950 (age dependent) with generous annual performance-based increases and opportunity to work with our generous overtime package.
  • You will be provided with a van for business use for your apprenticeship and your fuel costs will be covered by the business.
  • £500 fund for driving lessons, theory test, and practical test fees if you do not yet have a driving license. A full UK driving license is expected within the first 9 months of the apprenticeship.

Requirements:

  • To apply for this Field Service Engineer Apprentice role, you will need at least four GCSEs at grade 4 (or C) or above, including English Language and Maths.
  • You will also need to meet the UK Government's Apprenticeship eligibility criteria:
  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course
  • Have left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applying for is due to start
  • Be aged at least 16 years old to meet government funding criteria.
