Key Responsibilities

Based in Melksham, this will be a wide-ranging role where you will be tasked with helping to reduce logistics spend and reduce the environmental impact of Logistics.

You will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of how a supply chain operates for a world class manufacturing company .

Working on the shop floor within the Stores team, you will learn how to use SAP, our warehouse management system to gain an understanding of the processes in place and Key Performance Measures within the department. You will work in different areas within Stores to build your understanding of the area and help integrate you into the team. .

Once you have a good understanding of the processes and systems in place, you will be responsible for a project where you are challenged to make a saving to the business. This will be with the help of subject matter experts and the people in your team. You will be introduced to Lean Six Sigma and its tools to help you structure and deliver your project. Regular updates will be expected to update stakeholders on the progress of the project ensuring milestones are met, within scope.

The ideal candidate will have experience in and be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • An enthusiasm to increase their knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain
  • Keen to learn new systems and procedures
  • Ability to work well as a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well organised
  • You are studying an Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain related discipline (preferred not essential).
