IT Network Support Higher Apprenticeship - Huddersfield Town Association Football Club

Huddersfield Town Association Football Club is a historic English football club based in West Yorkshire. Overview:

The IT Network Support Apprentice will support the IT Team with the day-to-day operation of the various components that comprise the active infrastructure (including Aruba switches, routers, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and network management systems).

The post holder will also assist in the continuous development and design of the network active infrastructure, maintaining and monitoring the network as part of day-to-day operations, and contributing to the ongoing development of the company’s networks. Working as a team member, the post holder will also contribute to investigating and introducing new technologies and networking services to support the company’s IT strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Problem-solving end user support issues.
  • Being a direct point of contact for both internal and external enquiries.
  • Client operating systems installations.
  • Telecoms installations.
  • IT remote support.
  • Assisting with repairs of faulty equipment.
  • Assisting in setting up office network systems.
  • Assisting in the audio-visual set-up for the stadium and training ground, including for match days and other events as required.
  • Contributing ideas to programmes and developing projects.
  • Ensuring all information is kept up-to-date and recorded as necessary.
  • Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
  • IT security, desktop/file and folder/network and internet.
  • Office 365 applications.
  • Liaising with external suppliers.
  • Monitoring backup and recovery policies.
  • Continuing to invest in learning and development.
  • Ensuring IT-related issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Providing a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Ensuring infrastructure is consistently well-maintained and developed, with all necessary security in place

Entry requirements:

  • an A-Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
  • OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

35 hours a week, 9am - 5pm with 1 hour lunch break. If you are working a matchday you will get a day off in lieu.
