You will be working at GSK’s Irvine manufacturing facility where you’ll be learning how to maintain and improve our pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities. We manufacture and supply reliable, high-quality medicines and vaccines to meet patients’ needs and drive our performance. Our network of 37 medicines and vaccines manufacturing sites delivered 1.7 billion packs of medicines and 409 million vaccine doses in 2024 to help make a positive impact on the health of millions of people. Our supply chain is not just core to our operations; it’s vital to bringing our innovations to patients as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible. Technology is transforming how we manufacture medicines and vaccines, enabling us to increase the speed, quality and scale of product supply.

Education required:
- UCAS Tariff: 96.
- Scottish Higher: BBCC or equivalent, including Higher in Maths with a grade of B or above and a Science or Technology Higher.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.
Other requirements:
- If offered a position, the candidate must be willing to enroll and meet entry requirements.
- This role is primarily site-based. Must be able to commute to the Irvine site
- Irvine is a Penicillin Manufacturing site. Please consider this if you are allergic to beta-lactam penicillin.
- You must be living and studying in Scotland, for the previous 3 years prior to the commencement of the Graduate Apprenticeship.

Ahead together with tailored training and career development
This is a 4-year hands-on apprenticeship designed to provide comprehensive training and career development in supply chain management. You will work towards a Level 6 Supply Chain Management qualification through the Aston University, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in logistics, business operations, and supply chain leadership.

- Career Development: Develop expertise in optimising supply chains, enhancing efficiency, and driving strategic decision-making.
This apprenticeship offers tailored training, practical experience, and opportunities to contribute to sustainability and efficiency projects, preparing you for a successful career in supply chain management.
- Course details: Supply Chain Management (Professional Practice) BSc Degree Apprenticeship | Aston University.
- Apprenticeship standards: Supply chain leadership professional (integrated degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
What will you do?
- Apply best practices in demand planning, scheduling, stock management, and logistics (including warehousing).
- Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth operations for pharmaceutical product flow, meeting customer demands and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and execute operational activities, including production scheduling, packaging, and labelling.
- Use data analysis to support decision-making and recommend process improvements.
- Participate in sustainability, cost reduction, and waste reduction projects.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply, compliance, and effective supplier agreements.

- A competitive starting base salary of £20,800 per year, which increases to £26,400 after 1 year (subject to annual review, this may change in line with living wage) plus an annual bonus based on company performance.
