Job Description

Why join Academic Families?

We’re a small, fast-moving company working internationally with both families, agents, hosts and schools. You'll work closely with the whole team and see the real impact of your contributions. This role offers excellent hands-on experience in international marketing across both B2B and B2C contexts.

Overview:

You will work closely with our Head of Business Development and Marketing, Marketing Manager and Marketing Design and Content Executive to support the delivery of high-quality visual and written content across multiple platforms. You will play a key role in producing engaging social media assets, digital communications, print materials and event collateral - particularly for our twice-yearly Boarding Schools Expos in Kenya, where you will take the lead on updating and adapting a wide range of branded materials.

From day one, you’ll gain practical experience working on real campaigns that reach global audiences, both B2B and B2C, while developing your design, content creation and project coordination skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

Social media:

  • Help create and schedule content for our platforms: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn – with opportunities to explore TikTok and Twitter.
  • Monitor engagement across platforms, including the monitoring of comments – replying to relevant comments, deleting inappropriate comments and notifying the sales team of potential leads.
  • Taking a proactive approach to engagement through liking, commenting on and sharing posts from relevant schools, agents and third-parties.

Design:

  • Updating existing collateral for our Boarding Schools Expos in Kenya, twice per year. Some of this includes - social media, billboards, flyers, email content, venue advertising and delegate and media packs.
  • Editing and improving our existing marketing resources that are used by both our sales and operations teams – such as handbooks, brochures, pricing documents and staff profiles.

Events:

  • Liaise and coordinate with external agencies, publishers and photographers/videographers where necessary.
  • Support the planning and promotion of our Boarding Schools Expos and other key events.

Brand consistency and best practice:

  • Ensure all visual and written content aligns with Academic Families’ brand guidelines, tone of voice, and values across all platforms.
  • Stay informed on competitor activity, education trends and platform updates to ensure Academic Families’ marketing remains innovative and relevant.
  • Keep up to date with digital marketing best practices, changes in platform algorithms and emerging trends.

Content management:

  • Responsible for the continuous organisation and optimisation of our content libraries – ensuring quality content is consistently highlighted and easily accessible.

Desirable skills:

  • A creative and passionate individual with great attention to detail and a genuine interest in marketing and design.
  • Experience with photo and video editing software such as Adobe InDesign, Canva and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Great eye for detail.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Organised and willing to learn.
  • Any experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g. HubSpot, Buffer, Later, Hootsuite).
  • Interest in photography or video content creation.
  • Driver with access to a car.

Salary:

£20,000 - £22,000 per annum

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes lunch

You’ll benefit from:

  • A friendly, supportive environment to learn and grow.
  • Exposure to marketing strategy, international events and campaign planning.
  • Opportunities to take on more responsibility as your skills grow.
  • 28 days annual leave including public holidays plus an additional 3 days over the festive period; plus 2 days volunteering per annum.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Free parking.
  • Annual railcard.
  • Free teas & coffees on site, plus an off site coffee hour with manager each term.
  • Christmas lunch and birthday cake.
