Job Description

Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship 2026

COULD A BBC APPRENTICESHIP BE THE NEXT ROLE FOR YOU?

Join us as an apprentice at the BBC to give yourself the opportunity to kick-start your career in a job you'll love. We’re committed to your skills and talent development. You’ll learn on-the-job, developing your knowledge and skills in an area that interests you, while working towards your apprenticeship qualification with one of our learning providers.

WHY JOIN THIS SCHEME?

The BBC isn’t just about what you see on screen! Behind every one of our programmes, there is a team that keeps the business running like clockwork. We’re looking for people to be part of this, and contribute to the second to none efficiency of our business operations. If you’re organised, proactive, and can spot the small details that make a big difference, look no further; our Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship could be your perfect next step!

To find out more about the schemes we offer, you can register to join one of our webinars here.

WHY JOIN THE TEAM?

The BBC Local business team:

The BBC Local business team supports regional TV, radio and online teams across England. You will be working as part of a team of business management and administration staff working predominantly for the South East Region and covering larger projects across the South, West and South West regions. We provide a wide range of business support services as well as effectively contracting and scheduling resources including staff, facilities and equipment in accordance with production and transmission requirements, terms and conditions and objectives of the operational areas.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Business Administrator (BAA26) apprentice, this is brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you will:

  • Work directly in a BBC team, and pull back the curtain on the world’s leading public service broadcaster.
  • Provide critical administrative support that keeps the heart of the team beating
  • Keep the team on track and ensure deadlines are met, working at pace to solve problems on the job
  • Communicate with colleagues across departments, building relationships and networks
  • Learn the systems, processes and skills that keep a major global organisation running smoothly

You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on and off the job. This means you’ll spend at least one day a week studying for a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with our learning provider, using its virtual delivery platform.

For more information on the apprenticeship standard you will be studying, please visit this link.

YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITY

We’re interested in your passion for working at the BBC and your enthusiasm for delivering world-class content and operational excellence to our audiences. We’re not focused on your qualifications; instead, we look for potential and offer you the opportunity to apply your transferable strengths and experience to work in different ways.

If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, along with transferable strengths, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply:

  • Collaboration – we want to hear about your ability to work well with others, to reach a common goal!
  • Organisation – Hopefully you have a sharp eye for detail and are able to keep your team’s work organised/running efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • Adaptability – We’re looking for candidates with an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and working in uncertain situations!
  • Motivation for the BBC – We’re keen to hear about why you want to work at the BBC specifically, and your motivation around pursuing a role in the broadcasting industry

This scheme is aimed at non-graduates.

If you have and you’re interested in similar roles at the BBC, we recommend applying for jobs at the BBC careers site or having a look at our other apprenticeship schemes.
