Job Description

Data, Digital and Technology – Data Science Graduate Programme - London

About the programme

Our Data, Digital and Technology (DDAT) – Data Science Graduate Programme is designed to develop your career as a data scientist within the financial sector. As a graduate on this pathway, you’ll work across our data, digital, technology, and innovation teams, gaining hands-on experience in applying data science to real world regulatory challenges.

You’ll build expertise in areas such as data analysis, machine learning, open finance, and artificial intelligence, directly supporting smarter, data-driven decision making at the FCA. Your rotations will immerse you in technical projects, ranging from developing analytical models and building data visualisation dashboards to coding and deploying solutions that enhance regulatory outcomes.

You must have a degree background in data science to apply for this programme.

Throughout the programme, you’ll be encouraged to contribute to strategic planning, shape data architecture, and support the design and governance of digital solutions. You may also have the opportunity to deliver research and insights that inform FCA activities and drive thought leadership in FinTech, RegTech, and EmTech.

Your first two rotations are selected to build your technical skills and sector knowledge, setting a strong foundation for your career in data science. Your career goals and interests will be considered when your final rotation is selected, aiming to support your aspirations and the FCA’s strategy.

The programme will prepare you for roles specialising in data science.

Learning & Development

Our two-year programme is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Centred on the FCA’s values of self-sufficiency, resilience, ambition, engagement, and integrity, you’ll be supported in developing personal effectiveness, advancing professional capabilities, and making a meaningful impact.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Formal learning aligned to your development goals
  • Bespoke induction and training
  • Networking opportunities
  • Social events with your graduate cohort
  • Opportunities to hear from senior speakers across the business
