R&D Placement

As an R&D Intern, you will engage in various tasks and projects that support our research and development initiatives. Your responsibilities will be dynamic, reflecting the evolving needs of our organization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your scientific and engineering knowledge to real-world applications, contributing to exciting projects in product development and process improvement.

Role Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform equipment calibrations and routine checks to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of laboratory equipment usage and applications.
  • Conduct tests and experiments following established protocols.
  • Prepare chemical solutions and reagents for various experiments.
  • Place products on stability and compatibility testing for new developments and existing production runs across different formats (e.g., aerosols, liquids, lotions, tubes).
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and assist with general laboratory operations.
  • Assist in pilot manufacturing processes as needed.
  • Provide factory support for pack design-related engineering issues.
  • Collaborate with the process team on industrial line trials.
  • Participate in individual projects or join specific teams (e.g., Batiste, Nair, Femfresh).
  • Attend project meetings and engage in discussions with project managers, production, supply chain, procurement, and other departments.

Education & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Cosmetic Science, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related science/engineering discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated "can do" attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Curious and inquisitive mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have the right to work in the UK (including a student visa that allows you to undertake an internship opportunity)
