Quality Management & Production Control - Placement Year

Quality Management & Production Control Intern – CAQ (Computer Aided Quality) - 12 Month Internship

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – Interior Surface Centre (ISC), Goodwood

Are you a student with a passion for IT systems, software development, and agile methodologies? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in one of the world’s most renowned luxury automotive brands?

We are offering an exciting internship opportunity within the Quality Management & Production Control department at the Interior Surface Centre (ISC), where we craft and manufacture the iconic wood interiors of every Rolls-Royce – all produced in-house at our Goodwood plant.

You will be embedded in our CAQ (Computer Aided Quality) team, a dynamic group leading the development and maintenance of our in-house quality and production software. This system connects with core platforms like SAP and multiple other interfaces, playing a critical role in our day-to-day production operations.

What awaits you?

  • Acting as a first-line contact for production IT issues and supporting resolution
  • Supporting IT hardware maintenance and collaborating with the central IT department
  • Writing process sheets and procedures to document software features and workflows
  • Supporting agile issue refinement and sprint planning processes
  • Assisting with allocation workflows and basic SQ2 (SQL-like) database reporting
  • Supporting configuration changes and station setups across production areas
  • Fixing and developing web reports and visualisations for the production environment

What should you bring along?

  • A motivated student (placement year or similar) with a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fields
  • Basic understanding of agile principles, SQL/database structures, and web development
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills and an interest in how software supports real-world manufacturing
  • Previous coursework or experience in IT systems, software development, or agile project work is a plus

What can you look forward to?

  • Great Pay – A competitive annual salary of £27,000, 27 days holiday per annum (pro rata to your contract) and an attractive pension scheme.
  • Rewarding Work-Life Balance – Contracted working hours are 40 hours a week.
  • Exciting Additional Benefits – You will have the opportunity to enjoy other employee benefits, a subsidised on-site restaurant and access to our Advantages scheme which gives you a range of offers and discounts.

What do you need to do now?

If you apply, the next stages of the recruiting process include online testing, an in-person assessment centre and then a virtual interview with the hiring manager.

Please note:

To be eligible for this position, you must be returning to your studies, for a minimum of 6 months, after completion of this placement. You must be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK.
