BMW UK, Financial Services, Farnborough – Finance Collections & Recovery - 13 Month Placement (July 2026)

The Finance Collections & Recovery Process Intern role reports to the Process Specialist in the Collections & Recovery Department, within the Operations function of BMW Group Financial Services.

The Collections & Recovery function is a business area with 4 teams; Business Customer Collections, Private Customer Collections, Recovery and Litigation.

The Collections & Recovery department are responsible for optimising customer contact to collect outstanding arrears whilst balancing customer needs against customer outcomes and company brand values.

Demonstrating a passion for process optimisation and continuous improvement, we’re looking for highly organised, self-motivated individual who can demonstrate an ability to apply themselves and excellent attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with all areas of Collections & Recoveries as well as interacting with multiple stakeholders across the BMW Group Financial Services Operations functions.

What awaits you?

This internship would suit someone that's keen to get an overall insight of several different functions of a business and enjoys dealing with multiple stakeholders.

  • Support the continued Collections & Recovery process reviews by assisting with the organisation of process review workshops and completion of following up actions, including process mapping.
  • Take ownership of & run a cross departmental weekly Change Huddle to create new ideas and initiatives for change.
  • Support the management and implementation of the Business Change Enhancements raised by and implemented in Collections & Recovery.
  • Work with the Collections & Recovery teams on actions for improvement driven from Quality Assurance results.
  • Support in the creation of a training material for Collections & Recovery.
  • Supporting projects as required, including minute taking for steering committees and management meetings.
  • Maintenance of the Collections & Recovery Process Management internal internet pages.
  • Any other team tasks as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • The applicant should be studying towards a business related degree but is not a pre-requisite
  • A genuine passion and interest in the automotive / finance industries.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use your initiative and manage your own projects/workload autonomously.
