Job Description

KPMG 2026 Accounting Advisory and Assurance Graduate Programme - Leeds

KPMG in the UK is part of a global organisation of independent firms that offers Audit, Consulting, Tax & Law and Technology services. Through the talent of over 16,000 people, we turn insights into opportunities, making a positive difference for businesses, people, and communities.

What is Accounting Advisory and Assurance?

Our Accounting Advisory and Assurance teams provide businesses with a broad range of accounting advice. Depending on the team you join you could be supporting major business transactions and transformations or delivering assurance services on financial and non-financial information such as risk controls or information relating to Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.

KPMG Accounting Advisory and Assurance Graduate Programme

You’ll join one of the four following areas:

The first is Accounting Advisory Services, where you’ll offer guidance to businesses on the latest developments in accounting standards. Translating their complex accounting issues into clear and expert advice.

Another of our teams is Environmental Social Governance Assurance. We help businesses to meet the assurance requirements of rapidly changing regulatory standards in this area. You’ll examine a variety of different topics, from greenhouse gas emissions through to waste, human rights, diversity and other non-financial metrics.

If you join our Controls Assurance team, you’ll assess how well our clients operate their business processes, helping them to become aware of potential risks and build customer confidence. You could be reviewing technology processes such as system access, data security and cyber resilience, or operational processes such as investment management and payroll, across a variety of industries.

And finally, in Transactions Assurance you’ll help support businesses prepare for major transactions like mergers, acquisitions or listing on a public stock exchange.

Whichever team you join, you’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with other KPMG teams including Financial and Technology Audit, Transaction Services, Consulting, Corporate Finance and Tax.

Training and Benefits

Over the three-year programme you’ll combine client delivery and study towards a professional qualification – the ACA, or CA equivalent in Scotland.

We offer a competitive salary and a host of great benefits, including 25 days’ holiday, study leave and a day off on your birthday. What’s more, each year you can take up to six days of time off to take part in volunteering initiatives.

Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in our offices or at client sites. We trust our people to be where they need to be, with our colleagues working together in person as often as needed. You’ll be empowered by the technology that supports us to work flexibly across our collaborative office spaces.

Some travel is likely for audit work, and because its seasonal, you should expect there to be busy times of the year

Seeing the whole picture

As part of our Accounting Advisory and Assurance team you will be building friendships and shared experiences, innovating and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best - whoever you are and whatever your degree background. We look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values and motivations. If you’re collaborative and good with people, that can be just as important as your ability to pick up key technical skills. See the specific programme page on our career's website for entry requirements and our ‘Applying to KPMG’ section for detailed application guidance.
