Job Description

Digital Marketing Level 3 Apprenticeship - Abbeyfield England

About Abbeyfield England:

Abbeyfield England is the national membership body for a network of independent Abbeyfield societies. Our mission is to support older people to live well in supportive shared homes and communities. We are entering an exciting new chapter of digital transformation, and this apprenticeship is a key part of building in-house skills and reducing reliance on outsourced services.

About the role:

We’re looking for a motivated and creative Digital Marketing Apprentice to join our small but dedicated central team. You’ll gain hands-on experience in all areas of digital marketing—from updating our website and intranet to managing social media and improving SEO—while studying toward an industry-recognised qualification.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in the charitable sector while building your skills, experience, and career path in digital marketing.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote working role, with occasional in-person meetings. Candidates must be from the Liverpool/Merseyside region.

Responsibilities:

Working under supervision and with full training provided, you will:

  • Maintain and update website and intranet content
  • Schedule social media posts and support campaigns
  • Track engagement and performance using analytics tools
  • Draft digital news, blog posts, and email campaigns
  • Create simple graphics using approved templates/tools
  • Conduct basic SEO audits and keyword optimisation
  • Maintain online listings and support digital reputation
  • Help identify and reduce duplicated content across microsites

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about digital communications and marketing
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Organised, proactive, and curious to learn
  • Comfortable working remotely and using digital tools
  • Able to follow brand guidelines and ask questions when needed

Essential:

  • Aged 16+ and not in full-time education
  • UK resident with right to work

Desirable:

  • Some experience with websites, content management systems, social media, or creative tools (even personal projects!)
  • Interest in the charity, ageing, or housing sectors

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

What you’ll gain:

  • Level 3 Digital Marketer Apprenticeship qualification
  • Professional training through a recognised provider (QA)
  • One-to-one mentoring from experienced digital professionals, including external industry experts as part of your training and support
  • Hands-on experience with live digital campaigns and tools
  • A strong foundation for future roles (e.g. Digital Marketing Officer, SEO Executive)
  • Potential for a permanent role upon completion

Working hours:

35 hours per week.

Benefits:

  • £21,000 per annum salary
  • Laptop, mobile phone, and software provided
  • Flexible remote working
  • Supportive team environment
  • Opportunity to help shape digital transformation in the charity sector
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
