Join the Cost Analysis Department as we take on the challenge of Formula One’s exciting new era of sustainable technical regulations.

By spending your year in industry with us, you will:

  • Apply your learning in one of the most technically demanding global sports
  • Take on responsibility as you are supported and trained throughout your year
  • Join us for a year-long placement from the end of June 2026 to the end of July 2027
  • Work in a fast-paced environment at our state-of-the-art factory in Brackley, United Kingdom
  • Be an integral part of a cohort of students working across all functions of our team

As an Industrial Placement in Cost Analysis:

Reporting to one of the Senior Cost Analysts you will be supporting the Cost Analysis team with their cost cap compliance activities working closely with other Cost Analysts in the Design Office, Operations, the Race Team, and the Finance Team. With the new Financial Regulations now firmly in place, it is essential that we remain financially sustainable and compliant, whilst maximising our cost efficiency. This is an ideal position for an inquisitive student to gain valuable experience in the financial activities in the operational and engineering areas of a world leading motorsport team.

Being mentored by one of the Cost Analysts, you will:

  • Support the Cost Analysis Department as well as operational and technical areas with a variety of cost cap related activities. This will include:
  • Costing data quality improvements and data analysis
  • Process optimisation and automation.
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities
  • FIA / Finance reporting
  • Work with Finance and other Cost Analysts to ensure consistency of approach and methodologies, aligning processes and standardising practices.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the F1 Financial Regulations.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have strong analytical skills, confident with numerical analysis and good communication and negotiations skills. These are required to work well with different functions across the organisation
  • Have at least one year remaining on your current course or be enrolled on your next course* from the point at which you start your placement with us (Please note that if you will be enrolled on a Masters or PhD course you will need to be able to evidence enrolment to confirm eligibility)
  • Be a self-motivated, team player that is passionate about working for our team and has winning mindset
  • Take full ownership of their work, driving projects forward with initiative and independence
  • Be adaptable, have a proactive mindset, a collaborative approach and thrive in a team environment
  • Show determination and resilience when facing challenges
  • Have keen attention to detail
  • Possess an analytical and inquisitive approach
  • Relish challenges and enjoy pushing for continuous improvement

Additional desirable criteria:

  • Process mapping and optimisation experience would be beneficial. BI, Python, data analysis, Microsoft 365 (preferably Excel)
