About the role:

Are you passionate about technology and ready to kickstart your career in software development? We’re looking for a Software Developer Apprentice to join our team in Sevenoaks. You’ll work alongside our Technical Director, gaining hands-on experience in building and maintaining innovative software solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll play an active role in developing, maintaining, and supporting our internal systems and customer-facing platforms. You’ll be trained in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Business Central, as well as other software development tools, to help drive digital transformation across the business.

Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Supporting stakeholders to understand and use the Dynamics 365 and Office 365 platform.
  • Assisting in developing and customising solutions within Dynamics 365.
  • Learning to build custom workflows, plugins, and web resources.
  • Supporting deployment activities and system integration.
  • Gaining experience in Microsoft Dynamics Sales & Field Service applications.
  • Developing and applying skills in Business Central fundamentals.
  • Creating standalone applications and web apps.
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and improving software performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong interest in programming and software development.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts.
  • Willingness to learn C#, JavaScript, and other programming languages.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and cloud-based solutions.
  • Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work in a team.
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program.

Entry requirements:

  • The learner must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or have an equivalent qualification with another training provider
  • OR an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test
  • OR 2 years’ experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.

Benefits:

  • Full-time apprenticeship with structured workplace learning and study with QA.
  • 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
  • Modern office environment with free on-site parking.
  • Comprehensive support throughout your apprenticeship journey.
  • Hands-on experience with real-world development projects alongside an experienced technical team.
  • Progression opportunities upon successful completion of programme.

Future prospects:

90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing: this is 20% higher than the national average.
