Register Your Interest: Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship – London

About the Programme

At Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, we believe in unlocking potential and creating opportunities for talented individuals to thrive in the legal profession. Our six-year Solicitor Apprenticeship offers a unique route into law, combining world-class training, hands-on experience, and a competitive salary – all without the traditional university pathway.

Based in our London office, you’ll gain an LLB (Hons) in Law and Legal Practice, qualify through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), and rotate across a variety of practice areas, all while working alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to building an inclusive, supportive, and ambitious environment where you can grow both professionally and personally.

Programme Highlights

  • Six-year programme with eight seat rotations across different practice areas
  • £28,000 starting salary plus a £3,000 sign-on bonus
  • All tuition fees fully funded
  • One day per week dedicated to study at BPP University
  • Mentorship from experienced lawyers and early careers specialists
  • Opportunity for client secondments to broaden your experience
  • A pathway to qualify as a Solicitor in England & Wales

What You’ll Gain

From your first day, you’ll be immersed in live legal work – from researching cases and summarising court judgments, to attending client meetings and developing critical skills in commercial law. Your role will evolve as your knowledge and confidence grow, preparing you for the responsibilities of a newly qualified solicitor.

Eligibility

  • Minimum of AAB at A-Level (or equivalent UCAS points) and 7 GCSEs at grade 6 or above, including Maths and English
  • Must be 16 or over with the right to work in the UK
  • We welcome candidates from law and non-law backgrounds
