About the role

Everything is somewhere! We use the power of geospatial information and satellite imagery to address some of the biggest challenges faced by society today: climate change, sustainability, agriculture, energy, finance, public safety, maritime surveillance, and defence. From operating state-of-the-art satellites, to helping fire-fighters get the right information to target their efforts at the scene.

The UK Intelligence Programme delivery team is a group of high performing and flexible Project Management professionals who work across all teams to deliver projects that push the boundaries of technology to help address users’ needs by providing products and services that help our customers to increase security, optimise mission planning, improve management of resources and protect our environment across wide variety of applications which include maritime surveillance, precision agriculture, emergency response and environmental monitoring. We use Agile, Waterfall and hybrid methodologies as appropriate to deliver our projects.

What you will be doing:

  • You will work as a member of the programme delivery team alongside our experienced programme and project managers to support our top company objective ‘enable the future’ by ensuring we deliver on our programmes and services.
  • No two days will be the same: You will be working on projects which can vary in complexity and duration across a variety of market domains. You will develop the skills to manage end to end project delivery, to manage and steer all aspects of a project working closely with other teams to align and coordinate requirements, timeframes and resources.
  • You will gain experience of managing competing demands, adapting quickly to changing priorities, communicating effectively across a wide variety of stakeholders and quickly building strong working relationships.
  • In addition to the Degree Apprentice training programme, you will become a member of the Airbus programme management community with access to comprehensive project management support network and training programmes to support your development path and ensure you are equipped with the skills needed to excel at your job including an internal project management certification programme closely linked to the Project Management Institute (PMI™).
  • As part of this degree apprenticeship, you will be studying towards achieving a BSc (Hons) Project Management.

Minimum entry requirements/qualifications:

Newcastle: Minimum of 120 UCAS points. 3 A Levels at Grades BBB. Apprentices are also expected to have typically achieved Maths and English at Level 2 prior to starting the apprenticeship.

Portsmouth: Level 3 qualifications on entry e.g. 3 “A” Levels at Grades A to C, or a vocational equivalent. Maths and English at Level 2
