The Opportunity 

Building Services Design Engineer:  

• Collaborate with Arup’s dynamic team of mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver integrated building services that power innovative projects.
• Team up with water engineers to seamlessly connect plumbing and infrastructure, ensuring design harmony across the entire water cycle.
• Partner with our public health experts to provide a diverse range of consulting services across developments—from commercial and residential spaces to universities, hospitals, research labs, transport hubs, sports arenas, and cultural venues.
• Thrive in a multi-disciplinary office, working side-by-side with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as specialized fire and acoustic experts.
• Prepare and coordinate exciting design solutions, collaborating with external architects, surveyors, contractors, and clients across various markets.

We are looking for candidates with three or more A Levels at Grade B or above, or equivalent, or a BTEC Level 3, in relevant subjects STEM subjects such as Computer Science, ICT or Maths. In addition, you should have achieved a Grade B/5 or above in English and Maths GCSE, or equivalent qualification.

Eligibility for apprenticeship funding requires candidates to have the right to work in the UK and continuous residency in the UK since at least September 2022. Candidates holding a visa must ensure it remains valid for the full duration of the apprenticeship, which may extend up to 5 years.
