Job Description

Business Analyst Apprenticeship

Looking for an Apprenticeship that will provide you with an experience like no other?

Join Sage as a Business Analyst Apprentice and gain practical, valuable skills from a global, FTSE 100 company and unleash your potential. This is a great opportunity for an organised, ambitious, self-motivated individual to join this high performing team of dedicated, professional Project Delivery experts.

As well as 20% of your time being dedicated to off-the-job learning, you’ll benefit from five personal development days which you can use to boost your skills and industry knowledge. We also encourage all our colleagues to make an impact in their local communities, by giving them five fully paid days per year to volunteer, fundraise or do other charitable work through Sage Foundation.

What will you gain exposure to?

The Transformation Office supports the pivotal programmes of work that enable us to transform, powering our growth & productivity to scale efficiently. The Project Management, Change Management and Business Analysis crafts work together to deliver the transformational priorities.

You will be working in several different project teams, honing your craft to understand, define and visualise the needs of stakeholders and the organisation and turn these into project requirements. These can be for technical implementation, business process design, or supporting change management initiatives.

You will engage and collaborate with colleagues across Sage to capture, analyse and document project requirements on small projects and initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders across the business you will learn how Sage functions work together to create our customer-centric culture.

You will learn and support best practice and participate in a community of excellence for your craft. Working with the Business Analysis community across the organisation you will be exposed to the latest methodologies and technology used in the industry.

Complete an Apprenticeship at Sage and you could be part of our next generation, not only benefiting from the experience gained through your apprenticeship, but also the many excellent benefits we offer.

Entry Requirements:

  • High-energy individual with a can-do approach.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present information clearly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Organised, proactive and can work to deadlines.
  • Good attention to detail
  • You will need five 9-4 GCSE passes (including Maths and English) to thrive in this role, and to qualify for the apprenticeship you will be enrolled on to

To thrive in this role, you will be looking for a future career in this area. But we’re committed to nurturing the talent at our fingertips, so if you have the 5 GCSE’s but don’t meet all the other entry requirements, don’t let that hold you back from applying. You can belong at Sage, just as you are.

Does the above sound of interest to you? If so, all there is left to do is apply! Our Application Process looks like this:

Our Apprentice recruitment process:

Apply online with your CV and complete our screening process. If our Early Careers team believes you might be a match, you’ll be asked to complete a video interview.

If successful, you’ll join a shortlist of candidates for the assessment centre. This is a full-day virtual event between July and August 2023 for which you will need to be available from 09:00-17:00. It’s a great opportunity for you to let your talents shine and showcase your skills! It’s a mixture of team and individual activities, so you can show us what you’re made of. From there, we will consider you for an apprenticeship position. If you require any additional support or special accommodations during your video interview or at the Assessment Centre stage, please email Andrew.James@sage.com

This role will commence on 2nd October 2023.
