Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Software developer in consulting. 75 programming, 25% other.
25% other includes things such as: Email admin, meetings, business courses, presentations, giveback etc.
75% programming includes writing code, debugging code, pair programming, code planning.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given plenty of responsibilities. I presented and spoke to executives on client calls. I was tasks with core functionally code. I got to redesign the front end for our product. I ran meetings with peers.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

IBM has an amazing culture. A culture of support and growth, growth for you, not just the company. They encourage learning and provide many resources to do so. Any issues you have will immediately be sorted and cared for.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed my placement so much that I would prefer to continue and not go back to uni. I have taken an extension contract. I have enjoyed every week at IBM and wish to return.
