Digital Marketing Intern
At Travelport
Placement (10 Months+)
Marketing
I began my journey at Travelport as a Digital Marketing Intern during my placement year. In this role I was actively involved in a variety of responsibilities, such as building and optimizing web pages using WordPress, managing the company’s social media channel and contributing to several marketing projects.
After completing my placement, I returned to University and after graduation I rejoined Travelport full time as a Marketing Operations Co-ordinator. In this role I manage overall budget and planning of events such as trade shows, internal events and international events.
My internship was an incredibly rewarding experience. One of the highlights was the supportive and collaborative environment; everyone was genuinely invested in my success. Additionally, I got the chance to get involved with meaningful projects, for example I was given the full responsibility of launching an Instagram strategy called the Seven Wonders strategy. Also, during my internship, myself and the other interns had the opportunity to create solutions to real business problems and present our ideas to Travelport’s senior leadership team. Another incredibly rewarding part of the internship was the opportunity to get involved in lots of charity work, for example we raised money for a local children’s hospice.
My advice for the next intern cohort would be to take every opportunity you’re given and don’t think you don’t have enough experience to take on these opportunities. You bring more value to the table than you think!
