What was the application process like?
Candidate experience is very important at SAP – I was treated with integrity, respect and humility throughout. The application process was straightforward: online form, uploaded CV & cover letter, telephone interview, assessment centre and job offer.
What was the interview process like?
Interviewers were genuinely interested in getting to know me, so they made me feel at ease the moment I entered the interview room this allowed me to be myself throughout the interview process. I was also given enough time to ask questions.
What advice would you give to students applying for your role?
You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to be willing and ready to immerse yourself in the responsibilities and opportunities given. Be ready to seize every moment and step out of your comfort zone, because that will bring out the best in you.
How much responsibility do you have?
At SAP, you are not treated as an ‘Intern’; you are a valuable and an integral member within your team. My responsibilities were not different to that of a permanent staff. This was a great opportunity to challenge myself to make a mark where I can.
What do you most enjoy about your role?
I love how my role has central importance to SAP’s ongoing success and therefore differs from day to day. I enjoy the togetherness and the collaborative atmosphere in my team, as well as the opportunity to work with global teams in different departments.
How has this experience exceeded your expectations?
Originally, when I got the job offer, I was keen and focused on making the most out of the 13 months by immersing myself in every opportunity and responsibility given. Little did I know that my contribution would earn me global and local recognition.
