Hello, I’m Rachel.

My journey into the corporate world, isn’t what you might describe as ‘typical’.

Several years ago, I ran a successful cake making business, but realised I needed a better understanding of how to run a business, so enrolled in night school and gained a HNC in Business.

I really enjoyed the qualification but didn’t feel that University was the right for me, so I looked into options where I could work and study at the same time. I discovered the Forvis Mazars School Leaver Programme… and I was so pleased to receive an offer, even though I was 30 years old.

Working, studying and being a mum of two does mean making some personal sacrifices but having a supportive network here has been invaluable. There have been bumps in the road, I didn’t pass one of my exams on the first try, but with the help of my colleagues I stayed resilient and kept moving forward.

For me, being part of a business whose core values align with so many of my own is priceless! Forvis Mazars has allowed me to achieve a good work life balance. When I’m not helping clients, I’m a founding member of the Families Network – a community which supports each other to navigate the challenges of balancing working life.

I feel really positive for my future at Forvis Mazars; knowing I’ll be supported raising my family, whilst achieving my career goals!
