IT Security Review

My role involved scripting, coding and automation of processes in the team. I ironed out issues and made sure that the team could spend less time on manual tasks and more time on crucial ones, improving our response time. Also, part of the incident response and red team. I was also handling a call as the project manager making sure that any tasks are completed in the right time without delays.

From day one, I was given as much access as the senior members of the team. After training and having gotten familiar with the system - I was able to carry out my tasks and any responsibility given to me efficiently.

Developed most of my soft and technical skills such as efficient communication, teamwork, time management etc. I also learned a lot in the Security field, whether it was in the continuous testing team, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and all the teams surrounding the security field. In terms of specific skills, I learned a lot of offensive security skills, batch scripting and defensive maneuvers.

We are assigned a lot of support - buddy, mentor and manager. The teams in Nomura are also always ready to help, which is a big plus for someone coming into the industry for the first time.

A very welcoming and warm culture. The japanese culture is unique. Most people who have been here long have stayed for the culture and people.
