Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My overall day to day involves auditing a audited entity through performing audit tests in the likes of cash/PPE/revenue/Debtors etc, whilst communicating with my team, as well as the client.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

In reality I was given a lot more responsibility than first expected, through completing many key audit sections on my own/with the assistance of a senior.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Massively developed upon my excel and digital literacy during my placement through development on excel functions through courses provided by BDO, as well as developed my communication and teamworking skills to a great level as a result of the nature of audit.
Additionally I have massively developed upon my organisation and professional etiquette skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a lot of guidance from my Buddy i was given during the start of my placement, as well as support from my people manger.
Additionally, I received tons of guidance and support from the teams I was auditing with, as everyone was friendly and willing to help you.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The culture is very inclusive and everyone is inspired to be their selves at work. Additionally, the general atmosphere was friendly and very social.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I toughly enjoyed my Placement and look forward to continuing it for the rest of my placement journey, as well as more than likely re-joining as graduate in the future. I would highly recommend the Placement to anyone (regardless of your degree)
