Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We has firmwide sessions (first day only), nerworking events, technology sessions and an assessment centre at the end of the week to fast track you onto either the industrial placement or a summer internship for the summer analyst. It was a very jam-packed week and you could tell they put in a lot of effort into it and clearly wanted us to get the most out of this week.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was super insightful! I loved hearing from our sponsors and all the different divisions. One of the things I loved hearing about was the fact that there's a lot of mobility. As in the fact that you can go into more management-type roles if you would like to.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I learned a lot about the industry itself and the culture and work ethic at MS. I really loved how they actually stick to their values and they're not just words on a wall. I also developed my soft skills e.g. networking

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was really friendly and understanding. One of the things that was mentioned was that there's no blame culture there and everyone really just wants to help you succeed and learn.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
It was the only insight I had done but I genuinely enjoyed the whole experience and felt that I came out with a better understanding of the firms values and culture.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Morgan Stanley
They're not looking for how well you can code or anything like that. They want to see how open you are to learning and how you well you can adapt in unknown situations. Basically, your soft skills. Due to the fast track AC I managed to secure a place for their industrial year so 100% recommend. ALSO, they cannot pay you due to company laws but you do get gift vouchers instead .
