Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the virtual internship and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
On a daily basis we experienced lots of talks and insights into the company and people, and learnt lots about the work involved at Deloitte. This helped understand what it was really like to be in the business working with clients, and the needs and duties of the work involved. I also understood more on the culture and the next steps about applying for a further experience the following year, and what this looked like
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really helpful understanding more about the busiess and all the roles available. My interest is in audit, but I feel like I can understand more about the other functions seen such as tax and corporate finance. There are many roles across the company, all of which sounded very good but look for a certain skill set - so I was happy seeing more what I could add, with my experience from university and bringing this into a career role

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, in this experience I went away feeling far more informed about the role and the company, understanding the culture and values, and benefits of working at such a big, renouned company. I developed skills in the various exercises, working with others on the experience and completing exercises, which gave a nice mix of experience. I feel the most iportant skill I learnt was being more prepared and confident, to understand what a career can look like

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The compamy culture and atmosphere I would say was professional, corporate, but also quite light and fun, in a way. There was a mix of things to get involved with and although the focus was ultimately toward applying and convertig to the next programme, there was lots of time for networking and question and answer sessions for example, so I do feel it was a welcoming and understanding culture where they were keen for me to learn and benefit too

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the virtual internship?
Yes I really enjoyed the virtual internship, I got out of it what I wanted as I was seeking to learn more and bring to life what it was like to work and take further qualifications at a company like Deloitte as I have always been interested in working in this type of company. The people were nice and I had chance to make new friends with those around me on the experience also, and that was great

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
I would probably say do some checking, their website and also your own research to understand what it is like and the career options avaiable as it really is multiple and quite confusing at first, if you can go in with a sense of what you want to do this will help you get a lot out of the experience. It seems a good place to work and an internship is a great route to a Graduate career
