I would liase with different departments in the company (legal, ecomm, sales) as well as creative agencies to get certain assets created. We also had team meetings to discuss priorities, get on a similar page etc. There are also development calls put in place to work on developing your career at the company as well as to take with you at other companies.
I have many projects under my supervision, including the creation and amendments of assets such as pack shots of products etc, as well as some projects where I have autonomy over their creation, such as fun things like an interactive quiz on the website.

Yes, I was given a lot of responsibility over our online presence, as I dealt a lot with ecommerce. WHenever there would be some changes required on the website, or on the images of our products, I'd be trusted to change them. I was also trusted to make decisions which would cost money from the budget, usually because the costs that I was approving were never really anything crazy, but still, there's a lot of trust there.

There are a lot of meetings and training sessions put in place to teach you about different areas of the business, different skills that you may not know, even if it's a well-know system, e.g. excel, and generally everyone is very welcoming and open. Probably the best working environment you can get in the corporate world and I'm really not just saying that.
Big thing I learned (the hard way): You get out what you put in! Project management is key in a role like this. You need to be proactive and want to do better to be better.

Everyone in the company is so warm and welcoming. You get surprised quite quickly how kind and human everyone is. They're very understanding of personal issues and very adaptive to different needs. There are mental health first aiders and people on board in every team to help you along the way. There are also opportunities to mix with others at conferences and socials where we can get to know more about each other and the various parts of the business.

Every individual in the company is so warm and welcoming. Of course, there's always work to be done, but people find a way to have a bit of a relaxed atmosphere around the office. Of course, there have been some office transitions during my placement year that have made some of the atmosphere difficult to mix as well, but people still find ways of making it feel like a safe space to be themselves.

I think the placement year has been very educational. I think if you put in the energy to get a lot out of it - you will absolutely enjoy it loads. There were certain parts where I didn't enjoy as much, but that's just how it is at any job. You just have to focus on doing the best you can and really taking everything on board. I think the flexibility has been amazing and the opportunities have been spectacular.
